"Rhythmic fluidity and sophistication.
undeniable magic"Following their 2004 international
and national sell-out smash hit tour, The Bar at Buena
Vista - The Second Round featuring original members
of the Buena Vista Social Club, Afro Cuban Allstars
and Vieja Trova Santiagera, is set again to have patrons
dancing in the aisles and bring to us the musical magic
that Cuba has to offer when they return to New Zealand
for a national tour commencing in Hamilton on August
1.
Cuba's The Bar at Buena Vista - The
Second Round brings together five of these greats who
continue to exude passion, romance, love and energy that
is so legendary of these Cuban masters. Celebrated 81-year-old
Maracaibo, 87-year-old Reynaldo Creagh and 80-year-old
Maestro Rubalcaba return together with original barman
from the Social Club Buena Vista, Arturo Lucas and his
sweetheart diva Siomara Valdes.
Special guest on tour will be the
eccentric singer known as the 'Cyclone' Juana Bacallao
who recorded her first album in the 50s and taught the
late undisputed queen of salsa, Celia Cruz how to sing.
Now at the ripe old age of 89 for the first time in New
Zealand she brings with her not only the magic of her
voice but a performance never to forget.
'Here in this joyous show is
the secret of almost eternal life'

Also returning is co-founder of the Buena Vista Social
Club Carlos Gonzales who will be joined by a band of
musicians the finest exponents of classic Cuban Son,

styles will also be
returning to mesmerise audiences with his moves and will
of course be accompanied by his sensual, sexy dancers.
