The salsa
class syllabus is based on the latest linear salsa fundamentals,
known as the 'Salsa Latina Foundation Sytem'. Learn technicalities, leading & following, styling and moves from
New York & LA with Puerto Rican influence. Our Salsa teachers will teach it to
you in a way that is specifically designed to get a particular
result, we beleive in a 'foundation system' which produces awesome
Salsa dancers.
The 'Salsa Latina Foundation System' is unique in New Zealand. It's based on and very carefully constructed from some of the best Salsa dancers in the world. You will learn from the ground up, a foundation that will build on itself. Learn these core moves known as Fundamentals and you will progress very quickly. You will learn most of these in the fundamentals in the beginner level & Improver level. You will also Learn Shines (footwork solo dancing) with its New Syllabus of 'New York Shines', which was developed by some of the top New York dancers.
You will start at beginners and
you will learn your salsa & latin dance basics. After you finish beginners Salsa you then you progress through all the levels, you will learn all your Salsa
Basics & Fundamentals right up until Intermediate. Then comes the Intermediate
level "Combo's & Styling" over a year in this level you'll discover that
all Salsa COMBINATIONS are simply VARIATIONS of the core FUNDAMENTALS. You will also learn new shines (footwork) & turn patterns every week for over 14 months! Finally comes the Advanced level, where there are no limits.
Salsa Latina's salsa is a social style and is completely a freestyle
dance, meaning its not choreographed.
You can go anywhere in the world and dance with anyone.
We place
a huge emphasis on fundamentals and lead & follow

Beginners Salsa classes are for absolute beginners, with
a First Free class. So if
you are new and would like to learn how to dance Salsa, this class is for is the place to start! Latin dancing
is a great way to Have Fun, keep fit and meet lots of new people!
In this class the basics of Latin dancing is covered with Salsa.
You will learn salsa techniques, partnering
and salsa single and
half turn patterns. After completion of beginners Salsa you will
then progress to either Bridge Level or the Improvers level in a different time slot
At the Beginning of every class we start with a warmup, this is usually just footwork only, then we partner up afterwards.
Can I Join this Level? Yes, anyone can join this level, no dance experience needed. It's best to join when the course starts (week#1) but can join any time up to week#2. If you have done Salsa before you can join up to week#3. Check the timetable for week numbers.
Where do I go after completing?
You have 2 options at this point, you could do either Bridge course or Improvers or both.
This is a short 4 week supplemental course or a "bridge course" = literally to bridge the gap. This is optional to take, we recommend taking this level either after Beginners or as well as Improver Level. You might decide to take this course after Improvers before joining Intermediate. You will learn Variations & fun combos that are based on Beginner Fundamentals. Plus learn basic dips and learn 2 new beginners Fundamentals.

Improver salsa
classes are based on, On1 NY linear parnterwork 'fundamentals', They
are a foundation to all salsa moves and body movement. You
will learn Salsa 1.5 linear turn
patterns and spinning. These classes are aim for those just finishing
Beginners 1 or Bridge level or people coming from other
studios and for those wishing to recap on the fundamentals. This
is considered the most important level to learn & master -
this level is worth repeating over & over. When you have completed
or feel comfortable with the Improvers level you can then progress
to Intermediate or the Bridge level if you haven't done that level..
Can I join this level?: Join this level after completing either Beginners or Bridge Levels. Remember if you find our intermediate a struggle,
do this level as well to help. You will pick up more details 2nd or 3rd time round.
Where do I go after completing?
Join in the Intermediate Level, Bridge Level or Repeat or a mixture of any of the above

What's NEW? New Extra Salsa Fundamentals added and the New NY Shine syllabus which is introduced Aug 2011.
What will you learn? In this Intermediate dance class (courses) we've placed more emphasis on timing,
leading skills, styling, variations of the fundamentals, positioning,
body isolation, Shines and you will learn more complex moves and combinations.
How does it work? These 8 week courses are made up of 7 parts... (p1,p2,p3,4p,p5,p6,p7). Once you have completed an improver level you will find that week#1 of a part will be starting so you can join that section. Just complete all 7 of these in any order - which is more than 1 year, which is 14 months. Then you once you have mastered all the 7 Shine Series (all 56 shines will be tested & you will gain certificates) & 120 turn patterns you can then join in Advanced Salsa Classe. Upper Intermediate? This level is no longer available as a seperate course course since August 2011 as we've introduced a new system of shines. Upper Intermediate dancers are encouraged to join the intermediate level as there is more advanced shines & components that are included for the combos to make it more challenging. To progress to Advanced you will now need to know all 56 Shines by name.
Can I join this level?: Join this level 'only' when you have completed the Salsa Latina improvers course ...or had private lessons! Remember you can always repeat improvers as well as this class.
Where do I go after completing?
After 14 months or if you have progressed faster through Private lessons, & mastered all 56 shines & 120 turn pattens you can join Advanced level classes

- Endless amount of NEW & upto date turn patterns, moves & variations & combos.
This level is our highest to date, The new Advanced level. Learn the latest New moves and combos.
Can I join this level?: Join this level only when you have completed all the Salsa Latina's Intermediate 1-7 part levels. You also must be fully able to do any improver level 2 fundamentals & moves with ease. You should also be able to do a double spins comfortably. You will need to know ALL syllabus Shines by name and understand all intermediate turn patterns.
Note: We wont hold back in this class.
