For the first time in Christchurch we welcome all the way from New York David Paris and dance partner Zoe klein for a fun filled weekend of workshops and a Salsa fiesta party on Saturday night! Friday the 26th August 2005 8.30pm till late - Legends Latin Friday night casual introduction party where David Paris and dance partner Zoe Klein will give a short demo to showcase their style.

David Paris and dance partner Zoe Klein to perform along with performances from the South Island Latin dance studios plus some surprise performances from other dance companies. Special guest MC and DJ’ing by our favourite percussionist Gilles from Ritmo Latino and DJ Doogle.

1 1⁄2 hour FREE workshop for Teachers only – Covers warm up techniques, footwork and shines, advanced ariels, dips and floor level tricks | | 12pm – 1pm | Leading and Following technique for New York style turn patterns- on 1 including arm techniques and styling | | 1.15pm – 2.15pm | Spinning techniques and multiple turns New York Style-on 1 | | 2.30pm - 3.45pm | New York Turn Patterns-intermediate to advanced | | 4.00pm – 5.00pm | Advanced dips and floor level tricks | | 5.15pm – 6.00pm | BONUS SPECIAL OPEN REHEARSAL
This is an open rehearsal for any dancers wishing to see David and Zoe's new tricks for thir next dance routine. This is a rehearsal practice for their new lifts. You will see how they communicate together while practicing and is a good reference on how to communicate with your dance partner. This is a powerful experience for those who view, and also for woman who will see how they can have a strong role in creating and fixing mistakes, in an environment of respect and positivity.WORKSHOP AND PARTY |

David Paris - Biography
David Paris has a vast background in teaching and performing salsa in the US and around the world. Internationally, Dave has taught and performed in the International Salsa Festival in Italy; the World Dance Festival in South Korea; the Salsaweb festival in Canada, and has taught workshops in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and Equador.
