| Nikal has been dancing since she could walk, in a variety of styles ranging from jazz to modern to hip-hop, and most recently latin. She was first a member and later co-captain of a nationally acclaimed US hip-hop dance team as a teenager. After university, she was introduced to salsa dancing through a close friend and professional ballroom instructor and became instantly hooked. In the last two and a half years she has run workshops and performed at numerous events throughout the United States, and since coming to Christchurch to study for her PhD, brings a unique style to the New Zealand salsa scene. | |
